The short version

We collect the minimum needed to run the Playbook: your email, an optional first name, coarse usage events, and anything you deliberately send us. Your Family Context and everything you type into module tools stay in your browser — they never reach our servers and are never used to train anything. We don’t sell data, we don’t run ads, and you can export or delete everything yourself, instantly, from the Account page.

Who is responsible

The beta is operated by its founder (the “controller” in privacy-law terms), reachable at hello@aiforparents.xyz or via the contact page. When the business incorporates, this section will name the company and its address.

What we collect, why, and how long we keep it

  • Account data — email address, optional first name. Why: to sign you in and know which plan is yours (performing our contract with you). Kept: until you delete your account — deletion is immediate and self-service.
  • Usage events — e.g. “a module was opened”, “a calendar was exported”, tied to an opaque account id, your plan tier, and a tester flag. Never prompt text, never your Family Context, never names or emails. Why: to see what helps parents and what doesn’t (our legitimate interest in improving a product you’ve chosen to use). Kept: per our analytics provider’s standard retention; anonymous visitors are not profiled at all.
  • Messages you send us — feedback, bug reports, contact-form messages, with your email so we can reply. Why: because you asked us to read them. Kept: as long as needed to handle them.
  • Preferences — notification on/off choices, stored with your account. Kept: with the account.
  • Technical logs — standard hosting logs (IP, request, time) for security and reliability. Kept: briefly, per our host’s defaults.
  • Payments — not live yet. When paid plans launch, a payment provider will handle card details — we will never see or store card numbers, and this policy will be updated first.

What stays on your device

By design, your Family Context, everything you type into module tools, and your getting-started checklist live only in your browser’s local storage. They are woven into prompts on your device. We can’t read them; clearing your browser data removes them. This is a product promise, not just a policy line.

Who processes data for us — and where

  • Clerk (authentication & account storage) — processes data in the United States.
  • Vercel (hosting & logs) — a global platform headquartered in the United States.
  • PostHog (usage analytics & our feedback inbox) — hosted in the EU (Frankfurt).

Where data leaves the UK/EEA (Clerk, Vercel), it’s protected by recognized safeguards — the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and/or Standard Contractual Clauses in those providers’ terms. We don’t use any processor beyond these three; when email delivery (Loops) or payments (Paddle) go live, they’ll be added here before launch.

What we never do

  • Sell or rent personal data.
  • Share it with advertisers or run third-party ad trackers.
  • Use your content or your family’s details to train AI models.
  • Profile anonymous visitors.

Your rights & the self-service controls

  • Export — Account → “Export my data” downloads what we (and your browser) hold, instantly.
  • Delete — Account → “Delete account” erases your account immediately. No email, no waiting period.
  • Everything else — access, correction, objection, restriction, or a complaint: write via the contact page; a person replies, usually within a day. If you’re in the UK/EEA you can also complain to your data-protection authority (in the UK, the ICO) — though we’d appreciate the chance to fix things first.

Cookies

Essential cookies keep you signed in (Clerk). Analytics runs first-party on our own domain, profiles signed-in accounts only, and does no cross-site tracking. There are no advertising cookies — which is why there’s no cookie banner.

Children

The Playbook is for parents and guardians aged 18+, not for children, and we don’t knowingly collect children’s data. Kids’ names are optional everywhere by design, and anything you enter about your family into the tools stays on your device. Please keep children’s personal details out of feedback messages too.

Changes & contact

Material changes get a new date up top, and signed-in users will be told about significant ones. Questions or requests: the contact page, or hello@aiforparents.xyz.
